Motta's story is thankfully not a sad one. In November 2019 he arrived at a house close to ours and the owner of the house got in touch with my volunteers explaining that she had been there all day already and he suspected that she had been dumped.

When I got home she greeted me as though we were long lost friends and she integrated into the pack within minutes. I guessed she must have been around 4 months at the time.

Motta wants to play with absolutely everybody, even herself. She is curious, friendly, energetic and excitable and is totally happy chasing an empty bottle that she is throwing around. If there is no bottle she is grabbing onto other dogs legs to entice them to play. Despite this Motta insists she is innocent and that whatever it was, it wasn't her.

In the mornings she is eager to get out and romp around in the wet grass. When we are outside she gets involved, digging holes and eating dirt.

She gets along with other dogs but is easily influenced by them too and can be problematic around cats if they are cat chasers. She is not a dominant dog in any sense of the word.

Motta is really affectionate and loyal to the person she bonds with. She is not scared nor is she a big barker. She looks very much like an Irish wolf hound, her fur is soft not wiry and she is a large medium dog weighing about 20 kilos.
